Provided drone coverage for a large-scale light show on the front of St. Louis Cathedral during Super Bowl week. Coordinated directly with the NFL for flight approval. Also covered brand activations on building exteriors across the Central Business District and documented the fan experience for a global payments brand.
I'm Roman Vaulin. Videographer and drone operator based in Monmouth County, NJ.
I've been doing this professionally since 2016. In that time, I've shot aerials for national sports broadcasts, operated on documentary productions for Hall of Fame subjects, covered Super Bowl brand activations in New Orleans, and handled drone ops at TWIC-restricted industrial sites on the Gulf Coast. Now I'm based in NJ and focused on building that same kind of work here.
I'm accustomed to working within compressed timelines, travel, and quick turnarounds.
I handle the planning, the airspace, and the logistics. You get organized, labeled, ready-to-use files on the other end. No follow-up emails asking what format you need. No folder of mystery clips to sort through. Just organized files, ready to use.

Experience
Some of what I've done.
Provided 5.1K ProRes drone coverage of a sea-based wind platform proof-of-concept being transported to and deployed at its test site.
Industrial · TWIC Required · Post Sulfur, LA
Ongoing drone coverage at a major LNG facility
Watch HereExtended aerial documentation of a large-scale industrial energy project on the Gulf Coast, including roof raises for storage tanks, module moves, and multiple ship arrivals. TWIC clearance required. High-trust, no-margin-for-error environment.
Operated the DJI Inspire 3 as part of a production crew for CBS’s Harlan Coben’s Final Twist.
- Filmed air-to-air shots of a seaplane fleet and then captured drone video of one of their training planes step-taxiing and taking off in vrious bays and bayous.
Calm on site.
Ready when you are.

I've been hired at the last minute more times than I can count. Sometimes on a few days' notice, sometimes with a brief that's one paragraph and a date. That's pretty normal at this point. My process is built around figuring out what you need, sorting the logistics before I show up, and delivering beautiful video.
For most projects, I work as a solo operator. One point of contact, one person who owns the whole deliverable from the shoot to the file handoff. It keeps things efficient and the communication simple. For shoots that call for an extra set of hands, I bring in crew I've worked with before. The footprint stays manageable either way.
Some clients see solo as a limitation. I think it reduces the moving parts — no miscommunication between a producer, a shooter, and an editor, and no one to pass the problem to. If something's off, it's on me to fix it.
I work in environments that require real credentials: FAA airspace authorizations, TWIC-restricted port access, and COIs. If your project has paperwork attached, that's not a complication. It's just part of the job.
